Thalia join ALAS with the intention of offering aid to the injured in Peru
On Thursday, August 30, Thalia recorded a public service commercial for the Foundation ALAS and thus officially joined the campaign to aid victims of the earthquake which occurred in Peru on August 15, 2007.
Besides Thalía, stars such as Juanes, Ricardo Arjona, Carlos Vives, Diego Torres, Alejandro Fernández, Gustavo Cerati, Daniela Mercury, Wyclef Jean, Jeremías, Malú, Diego Uma (Babasónicos), Fonseca, Rafael, Timbiriche, Aleks Syntek, Chayanne, Reyli, Catupecumachu, Ricardo Montaner, Beto Cuevas, AB Cumbia All Stars, Julieta Venegas, Benny Ibarra, Lucero, Daddy Yankee, Omar Alfano y Fidel Nadal, will also join the project in the recording of promotional spots. The foundation will send 100% of the funds collected during the campaign to the humanitarian work of the Red Cross.
The ALAS Foundation (América Latina en Acción Solidaria), established by Shakira in association with a group of personalities such as Gabriel García Márquez, Rubén Blades, Juanes, Ricky Martin, Mana, Aleks Syntek, David Bisbal, Alejandro Sanz y Miguel Bosé, among others, is, according to the discription on their web page, an non-profit organization for artists and Latin American citizens dedicated to improving the health and education of children in the Americas through the generation of awareness and the investment in social programs.

Thalía Celebrates Her Second Baby Shower and 36th Birthday
The Mexican singer parties it up with husband Tommy Mottola, family and friends
It was an event-filled weekend for Thalía, who after a second baby shower on Saturday celebrated her 36 th birthday with her husband Tommy Mottola, family and friends.
The baby shower, the second of four she'll have, took place at the Asian restaurant Phillipe in New York. About 40 people attended, among them Thalía's sister Ernestina, her mother Yolanda, Mottola's two children, Lili Estefan, Mexican designer Mitzy, and a group of childhood friends who came in from Mexico for the celebration. The Eiffel Tower-themed party sported all-pink decorations. To finish up the night, the guests let loose with some Karaoke.
The next day, Thalía celebrated her birthday at the Greenwich Village Italian restaurant Da Silvano. The menu included Tuscan and Mexican cuisine, and the bakery that did her wedding cake sent her a pink cake with her picture on it. The party continued later that night at the couple's home where they had a Mexican barbeque for their 30 guests. The "Amor a la mexicana" singer beamed with happiness, opened all of her gifts and even showed off her pregnant belly to the paparazzi. She's expecting her first daughter at the end of September.

Lindsay Lohan and Tommy Mottola - crisis really !?

Since no studio in Hollywood will touch her, Lindsay Lohan has turned her attention to reviving her music career. Lohan has reportedly contacted Universal Music executives from rehab and has informed them that she is ready to start work on her third album. Lindsay loves music," a friend tells us. "She loves writing songs."And, God knows, she already has name recognition." The music business traditionally tolerates - make that glorifies - its addled artists. Look at the late, great Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Sid Vicious and Kurt Cobain. (Not to draw any grim comparisons, Lindsay.) "Tommy Mottola knows how to handle divas," says a source, noting that the former Sony Music chairman's wives have included Mariah Carey and Thalia. Itatí Cantoral organizes a baby shower for Thalía

The actress is giving a party for her friend in New York City

In the course of the broadcast of her US radio program Conexión Thalía, the Mexican singer said that her friend Itatí Cantoral will be the organizer of her Baby Shower. The baby is due in September.
“She’s happy. She’s been hoping to be a mommy for the longest time, and the pregnancy is progressing well,” said Cantoral, 32. “I planned her bachelorette party so I’m doing the Baby Shower,” she told La Oreja (Televisa). The two aren’t just pals, the future mommy, 35 and her husband Tommy Mottola, 58, are the godparents of one of Cantoral’s twins.
The star ofLa viuda de blanco (Telemundo) still doesn’t know what gift to buy for the baby. “She has everything she needs, so it has to be something very meaningful. I’d like to get the first outfit for when the baby leaves the hospital, which has to be yellow, a good luck color,” she said and added that the couple haven’t yet decided who the godparents will be.
Thalía’s first baby shower took place last July. It was organized by her fan club Mundo de Cristal. Thalía joined in via a long distance phone call.

Thalia had her first baby shower with fans

Singer Thalía, 35, had her first baby shower with her fans just as she had promised. The party was in Mexico and although she didn't attend personally, she thanked her fans over the phone,

I want to thank you, with all my heart, for getting together to celebrate on my behalf, and that I am here, all alone, listening on the phone to the huge party you have going on over there for the baby.

The fans partied amidst posters of the singer, gifts, music and balloons. Thalía was very happy about the shower,

I love you all, and I want to tell you that I'm super excited, and that the greatest thing in world is happening to me right now. There's nothing greater than what is happening in my life today.

Thalía whose first child with Tommy Mottola, 57, is due this fall, has yet to host three more showers - one in New York with American friends, other with her Latina friends and one with her gay friends. Source: People en espanol

New books and new CD in 2008

Pregnancy hasn't stopped Thalía from continuing to work as hard as ever. Yesterday (Tuesday), she introduced her new line of bed sheets inspired by Latina women's taste. "Not everything Hispanic is red, everything isn't passionate. On the contrary, it's very romantic, very subtle and elegant, the Latina beauty is what stands out," said Thalía about her line.
The very pregnant 35-year old Mexican superstar is taking full advantage of this stage in her life. "I'm at a point where I feel balanced, focused on what I am doing. My creativity is a reflexion of what I am experiencing now: a lot of love," she said speaking about all the projects she's currently undertaking.
 Right now, Tommy Mottola's wife is working on a book about beauty where she'll share the secrets of her good looks and happiness. She's also getting ready to launch a line of fragrance and cosmetics - all due to come out this year. "I'm very hyperactive. Always eager to do something," said the actress who continues to design her own clothing line, Thalía Sodi, for K-Mart.
 Currently, Thalía is also working on several other projects for the coming year. She'll launch a new album in early 2008, a cookbook which "will be a Latino culture feast," a lifestyle book and a how-to-look beautiful-while-pregnant book. Thalia is one of the three most popular women in Mexico

Recently, Mitofsky agency, a well-known agency of Investigation of Market and Opinion Publishes in Mexico, published the results of a survey that determined who are the most popular women/known/famous between the Mexicans.

Thalía, who obtained the third position between the results that represented three different generations, headed the list next to great women, #1 Silvia Pinal and #2 Lolita Ayala. The Thalía, youngest, is the woman who injects more energy and positivismo of her generation, has always seeded the overcoming seed and there is no doubt that it is a great example for the woman. Thalia talks about baby showers and pregnancy

Thalia will be having four baby showers altogether: one in New York with American guests, another with her Latino buddies, a third with her gay friends, and an interactive one with her fans on her website.

Thalia talked to People Magazine about her pregnancy and baby showers while attending the auction for the deceased Mexican actress María Felix, held at Christie's. The pregnancy seems to be going easily,

I'm very happy and relaxed. I eat a wholesome diet, with a lot of protein and fruits. It's the greatest thing that's happened to me in my whole life.

Thalía also made fun of her husband Tommy Mottola, 58, who goes with her everywhere,

He seems to act more pregnant than I do!

 She said that she has chosen a name for the baby, due to be born in September but didn't reveal it.
